The Lumière brothers, Auguste and Louis Lumière, were French inventors and filmmakers who played a pivotal role in the birth of cinema. Their groundbreaking work with moving images laid the foundation for the motion picture industry as we know it today.

In 1895, the Lumière brothers organized the first public screening of films at the Salon Indien du Grand Café in Paris, France. The event took place on December 28, 1895, and featured a series of short ดูหนัง films, each lasting around 50 seconds. The films included scenes of everyday life, such as workers leaving a factory, a train arriving at a station, and a baby being fed. These seemingly mundane yet captivating images astounded the audience, who had never witnessed moving images projected onto a screen before.

The Lumière brothers called their invention the Cinématographe, a portable motion-picture camera, and projector. Unlike previous devices that could capture motion but lacked the capability to project it onto a screen, the Cinématographe combined both functions, making it the first true motion picture camera and projector in one.
