Speakers from Expo City Dubai and Masdar City Confirmed for Energy & Sustainability Summit

The annual event is set to welcome over 20 speakers from the construction and energy sectors

More than 20 speakers have confirmed their attendance to speak at the 2024 Energy Sustainability Summit, with senior representatives from Expo City Dubai and Masdar City amongst them, as confirmed by the editorial team of Big Project Middle East.

Dr. Yianni Spanos, Vice President – Sustainability at Expo City Dubai, and Chris Wan, Associate Director of Sustainability and CSR at Masdar City, will be taking part in the event. Dr. Yianni will contribute to the 'Post COP28 Net Zero Action' panel discussion, while Wan will deliver the second keynote address focusing on how cities can achieve Net Zero.

Scheduled to take place at the Habtoor Grand Resort in JBR, Dubai on 7th March, the Energy Sustainability Summit requires mandatory registration for attendance, which can be done via this link – spaces are extremely limited. This event marks the third edition since its inception by Big Project Middle East in 2022.

The agenda of the event will revolve around various key themes, including: how construction and energy stakeholders can make a tangible difference in the journey towards Net Zero post COP28; sustainably sourcing and responsibly disposing of end-of-life assets and materials; transitioning to sustainable, locally sourced materials that can transform buildings and cities into carbon sinks; the emergence of waste-to-energy facilities, and exploring alternatives to solar to decarbonize the MENA region’s energy sector. Additionally, the event will address the challenges associated with greenwashing.

Speakers encompass members from governmental organizations, industry bodies, developers operators, construction and engineering stakeholders, energy specialists, and manufacturers.
