Commercial Use Cases of Fridge for Truck

Installing a mobile fridge or a deep fridge in the van can make it possible for you to undertake many commercial activities in the B2B and B2C space.

There are a number of modifications that people do in their vehicles for different commercial purposes. One very common modification that people do is installation of a fridge for truck. If you already have a decently sized vehicle like a reefer van and are looking to start a new business, you should be looking for commercial use cases of the vehicle. Installing a mobile fridge or a deep fridge in the van can make it possible for you to undertake many commercial activities in the B2B and B2C space. Here are some common options for you to choose from.

B2B use cases:

The B2B or business to business use cases are where you are dealing between two businesses. Here you can either enter a contract with a supplier of goods or a recipient of goods. What matters is that the items that you collect and deliver will be used by the recipient for further business processes.

  • Pharma and medicine delivery work is a good choice. Many medicines need to be stored in special cool environments. For example, vaccines and direct consumption medicines which are temperature sensitive will need to be transported in a refrigerated vehicle which will need a fridge for truck . You can work with either a pharma manufacturer or a distributor to supply these products to different pharmacies across the city which will then dispense them to buyers. Alternatively, you can also deal with a specific pharmacy or hospital or retail/grocery chain to collect the products from different suppliers and bring them to your contracted establishment. Expect high earning but low volume of business.
  • Catering businesses are also good options for B2B work with a reefer van. In many cases, a catering company will contract the van for two purposes. First, they will depute you to collect raw food items, including meat and seafood as well as exotic fruits and vegetables from specialized vendors and deliver them to their cooking and food preparation facilities. Next when food is prepared, they will freeze it and you can deliver it to a catering location where the company will only set up heating and serving equipment. Expect a high volume of business but you will be earning by scale and not margin.

B2C use cases:

The B2C or business to customer use cases are where you are dealing between a business and a consumer. Here you procure items from a supplier of goods and sell them to customers to make a profit. This is generally a retail business so you will need to be very competitive and be prepared for occasional ups and downs in sales.

  • An ice cream truck is the first and most obvious choice and a vehicle like a reefer van which is infinitely customizable like a reefer van is a very good choice. You can buy pre-made ice creams from different companies or if you have the confidence to actually make your own ice cream. From here on, everyone knows the drill. Go to a place where there are a lot of children – young and old and you can count the greenbacks.
  • Grocery delivery business is another obvious B2C choice. The van can be used to deliver groceries including meats and seafood. You can check with a local retail chain if they are looking for delivery trucks or online grocery markets
  •  Then there is the case of selling food products in commercial areas. A good approach is to buy TV dinners from a large grocery chain, store them in the fridge for trucks and go to an area where a lot of people work. Heat and sell the TV dinners for a healthy profit margin while still being involved in minimal preparation effort.
