Mahadev app scam has come to the fore again after the Center imposed a ban on 22 illegal apps and websites, including websites like Mahadev Book Online and Reddyannaprestopro. These restrictions come in the wake of the investigation conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Mahadev scam case.
Union Minister Rajeev saurabh chandrakar mahadev in his speech said that the Chhattisgarh government led by Bhupesh Baghel is not involved in fighting illegal activities through the gambling scheme. Chandrasekhar's statement comes after the main accused in the case came forward and alleged that Chhattisgarh Governor Bhupesh Baghel had encouraged him to set up his gambling business in Dubai when he approached him to help him in connection with the arrest of his associates in Bhilai.
The main accused, identified as Shubham Soni, said he had to pay Rs 508 million to the minister. ED said it recorded a 'cash courier' email claiming that Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel received Rs 508 crore from UAE-based app developers Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal.
Recently, the ED filed the first chargesheet in the Mahadev app scam case, which names app promoters saurabh chandrakar wedding and Ravi Uppal among the 14 accused. The center said the program is managed through franchising by 'panels/affiliates' known for 70-30 profit. The website also stated that the company used an online gambling application to recruit new users, create fake identities, and launder money through benami account websites.
