ECLIPSE SPHERICAL HELMET - SPEED WITHOUT COMPROMISE

The aerodynamic Eclipse Spherical is Giro’s most sophisticated, stylish, and lightweight aero road helmet, and it's crafted with spherical technology powered by MIPS®, so you can ride with more comfort and an additional layer of protection.

The Eclipse Spherical is both the fastest road helmet and the coolest aero road helmet Giro has ever created, bringing their best technologies together in a light, compact form that's ideal for road and gravel racing. The sleek outer shell actively streamlines airflow to reduce drag across multiple wind angles, while 14 Wind Tunnel vents pull air through the helmet to provide incredible cooling power that rivals their most aggressively vented road helmets. Inside, the ball-and-socket design of Spherical Technology is powered by the MIPS® brain protection system, which allows the helmet's outer EPS foam liner to rotate around the inner foam liner during a crash to help redirect impact forces away from the brain. Progressive Layering of both the inner and outer liners help to offer more comprehensive protection, too. The patented Roc Loc® 5 Air system enhances stability and fit, and plush antimicrobial Ionic+ padding helps absorb sweat and moisture while providing durable antimicrobial performance.

Not only is Eclipse Spherical a big step up from the speed of Giro’s previously fastest aero road helmet, the Vanquish, it is the fastest road helmet they have ever tested. Eclipse beats the closest aero road helmet competitor by 14 seconds over 160kms (100 miles) at 40kph (25mph), and is a full minute faster than their own Vanquish. (Wind Averaged Drag, combination of 80% typical riding position and 20% head down riding position.)

Tested with a proprietary Therminator head form to measure helmet cooling efficiency and the results prove that Eclipse is almost as cool as their best-in-class road helmet, Aether Spherical, setting a new standard for aero road helmets. Cooling measured from 37.7ºC (100ºF) starting temperature at with 40kph (25 mph) wind speed.
