Passengers have launched a class action complaint against the Mexican airline Volaris, alleging that their flights were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, but they were not provided a refund and must pay a fee to rebook their ticket.

Samantha Levey claims that Volaris cancelled numerous flights to Mexico from the United States due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, despite the fact that the travel ban did not extend to air travel.

Levey asserts that, despite a customer contract and guidelines from the Department of Transportation (DOT), the airline did not offer refunds to passengers who sought them when it cancelled these flights.

According to the Volaris class action lawsuit, Volaris is an ultra-low-cost airline that offers travel to and from Mexico and operates 394 daily flights to 40 destinations in Mexico and 26 cities in the United States and South America.
